  1. My computer is too slow to view all comments, but FDR's first inauguration wasn't on January 20, 1933. Instead, this happened on March 4, 1933. The 20th Amendment, ratified on January 23, 1933, changed the date from March 4 to January 20, effective October 15, 1933.

  2. @Orlando2Vegas - Hats in general went out of style because of this very man. If you watch any television show or movie from the 1950s or earlier, nearly all men wore fedoras or, in the summer, straw hats. JFK didn't wear hats, and men stopped wearing hats because the fashion passed by the wayside because of JFK's lead. Now only if the necktie would go away!
