f d = Σ(i <= d) i (d - i)² Where d is the number of points in a row. So the result, including the tilted ones in this case is f(5) = 50 (d - i)² is the count of quads of a dimension and i is the number of squares of the rim points of a square: . 0 . . . . 1 . . . . . . . . 2 . . . . . . . . . . . . 3
