It's not possible. The whole experiment is kind of stupid. But assuming, Alice in her room could be totally isolated from the outside world, I guess, she would be in a super position.

I already don't agree to the original experiment. Even if we assume Alice to be in a superposition, it won't last for long. Her brain will react slightly different depending on the screen output. These slightly different reactions are not isolated from the outside world. These small changes probably won't be recognizable, but they spread along the whole planet, and also along the whole universe. Even if Wigner doesn't know yet, the super position doesn't just affect him, but the whole universe, or at least the part of the universe, which light could have reached in that time.

There's no need to find a new theory about measurement. Measurement can be described with the current quantum theory already. If a quantum state (superposition) interacts with a non quantum state, this quantum state and the non quantum state will be tangled into a new quantum state. If a quantum state interacts with the screen, the screen is now in a new superposition. Since the screen is not isolated from the world, not only the screen will be in a super position, but basically the whole world. That's what people call the many worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics.

@schmetterling4477 Why?

@jimmy Burnett No it proves nothing. If quantum effects appear in the brain, it just means that brains, who use quantum effects work better, which means that if ones brain doesn't use quantum effects he is more likely to die. Some people would call this "evolution".
