  1. I'm kind of the leader in my team, since I'm the only employed programmer, and everyone else is an intern. I normally let them do, what they want. When I see, they are doing something stupid, I'll tell them, how I would do it, or how they could improve the code. If they don't fix it, I'll probably fix it myself some time later, at least when I have to work with the code. It doesn't make too much sense to force a programming style onto them, when they will just stay for a few months. It will just slow them down.
