  1. 13:50 You don't have to adapt your speech when talking to children. Children arent as stupid as most adults think. You don't have to change your voice, you don't have to talk slower. As long as it's not highly technical, you just talk to kids as you would talk to any other person. And if something is too complicated, you explain the details. Just like you would when talking to adults.

  3. ​ @fearedjames  Yeah, kids usually quickly like me. Just showing serious interest in them is often enough. My mom is even worse. Sometimes children from other visit us, like the childern of a friend of my mom, and usually they just don't want to leave anymore. My mom always wonders what she's doing, because when her children (like me) were somewhere else, we were usually happy to see our mom come back. But maybe it's also just because we don't put so much restrictions on them, like they would be allowed to play video games for hours. (I'm actually happy if children are able to focus on something for more for an hour. The children I mentioned earlier ususally can't focus for that long on a single game)

  5. 16:50 I wouldn't call myself a sophisticated c++ programmer. In one job I had I used C++. But I never did anything sophisticated. And once I didn't have internet connection when at vacation, and for some reason I couldn't use rust (either it wasn't installed or I needed a specific crate which wasn't installed, or I just couldn't read the documentation), so instead I used C++ reading the documentation using manpages and mostly using C except for generic types.

  6. ​ @Tstorm731  I think my younger cousin didn't really view me as an adult. I think he was 8 when I was 20. I didn't talk to him using baby langugae. I just talked normal to him. I think the main reason is that I usually talked to him as if we're on the same level. Probably similar to me and my uncle when I was young.
