I don't want conflict. I want happy endings, and let them stay happy. Or at least explore, why there can't be a happy ending. Probably the story should start after the "adventure" is over. In the game "Haven", the story starts after a couple was able to escape their "evil government", and now happily live together on a new planet. And there is not that much conflict, they are basically a healthy couple. And when conflict appears, it's believable and not cheap.

Is Digimon Adventure 02 a continuation or a next gen? Most of the main cast does still exist, but just as side characters, some even are main characters now.
