It's a Utopia. That's basically how I live, and it's nice :P

"Anthem" has a romantic subplot, that works.

Sometimes a dystopia really is like "What? How would this happen?" But when you think about it, the world is really going in that direction. When the dystopia was written, you could maybe see 10% of the flaws mentioned, and nowadays it's already 20%. And in a few hundred years, it might be almost 100%.

I'd like to see more utopias. How can you make stories to work in utopias? What I can think of is more like Slice-of-Life, Comedy or in general some story, which is not really about that society.

"Haven" is also kind of a dystopia, but without most of the problems mentioned here.

In which dystopia do we currently live? I liket "Anthem", but this will probably stall take a few centuries. We'll just see, how it starts.

I currently have a post-dystopian world in mind. Some rulers managed to create a society where everyone is equal. But after some time, maybe centuries or even longer, the rulers disappeared, so really everyone was equal. And even some time later, the people became more distinct again, and everyone started to forget the rules or to interpret them differently.

20:00 Maybe it's easy to destroy a dystopia if you are the first one after a century because they've been so successful. Also it could be because the hero is not the first one who was able to escape, but you just don't know about other ones. In "Anthem" it might be both.
