1:05 Under the assumptions that bad feelings are bad, antinatalism seems totally valid to me.

@MatthewVanston "nothing" is a pretty extreme thesis. So it's pretty obvious to me, that you're wrong. For example some people are more rational, others are more emotional. Some are rather shy, some are outgoing. Would you agree this also has some genetic component? Because this would lead to different interests, peer groups and lifestyles, which also would lead to different world views and mindsets. Or did I miss something?

8:15 You could do statistics if people think, they would rather have not lived, and if the majority thinks this way, this might be a reason not to give birth to children. But maybe it's good enough if people, who think, it would have been better if they didn't exist, they just don't get children themselves, since it's more likely that they'll have similar thoughts because of similar genetics.

6:00 If an argument contains consent, it's already invalid to me. Consent is not that relevant for my morals.

10:00 Why not just give birth to people, and when they consent on rather not having been born, they will be killed without pain.

@_looner Maybe a simpler example. Someone might be too stupid to understand concepts like antinatalism. And we agree that intelligence has a genetic component, right? So such a mindset will not even spread among these stupid people.

@RealMonzer I guess you missed my point. But this was a year ago, so I don't know the context anymore. However, there's nothing illogical about antinatalism.

@dexterkrammer1089 I didn't say, I agree to that assumption :)
