  2. See, this is the problem. The income disparity is the result of progressivism, it's a problem progressivism creates. Things like minimum wage and welfare begin in a good place in terms of intent. Same with healthcare for all and single payer. But the results of these programs do not match the intent. It's empirical economics.

FDR fawned back, saying " I am keeping in fairly close touch with that admirable Italian gentleman"'

And those 'Austrian crackpots' were right about the crash that didn't happen in 1920-1. The government, for the first 150 years, did nothing of note to intervene into markets. Nothing. The only thing they did was dramatically slash spending. On the other side of the brief depression was the roaring 20's. This is what Morgenthau was after. That, and watching the folly of raising taxes in a depression.... I want you to think about your statement - unemployment falls to 14.7. What pride can be taken from declaring what it was to drop to 14.7. Roosevelt never presided over lower than that until he war broke out, with many years in the 20 percent range. Unemployed has never been that high before or since. Roosevelt's meddling was an unmitigated, empirical failure. The only fetish is for Roosevelt and his fascist policies - mostly in an economic sense - and he proved what the other fascists of his day proved: the only way out of this failure is war.

  16. How does he understand that the Libyan uprising was to protect the value of the dollar, then still advocate for single payer? Our army has to protect the dollar, by force, just to pay for our government. And "liberals" think that they should pile on more debt, more services... you're not even smart enough to be a hypocrite. It's the same fallacy as "no blood for oil" and "greedy oil corporations." The second you stop consuming oil, or using anything that was driven by oil, then you can talk. Until then, you are literally the problem you claim to want to solve.

  27. g1370 “the road to socialism,” mentioned above by the naive OP, is addressed in “The Road to Serfdom” by Hayek in the 1940’s. It’s remarkably prescient today, which is why the comment is objectively stupid.
