  3. To your final point about rural communities... yes, they trended socialist, but not marxist. The marxists would have loved to have this working class as a constituency because they had similar goals, but the working class rejected them because marxists are invariably 5’2” intellectuals from wealthy families who’ve never held a hammer. Now you understand where fascists come from; socialists who reject marxists who both reject western liberalism and market capitalism.

  4. You know Orwell kept a list of “fellow travelers” - communists - that he said the BBC should not allow, right? He didn’t keep a list of authoritarians, just communists. Why? Because as “diverse” as you think they are - from Bakunin to marx to Lyotard - EVERYONE else hates communists. Nobody likes a thief. Glad I could help.
