You must understand that nothing is about altruism. If someone lets you think that, then they’re conning you. You’re not altruistic and neither am I. Our world works on individual incentives exchanged in the marketplace for value. At least our world used to work. Now they sue.

@ivandrago6869 You’re explaining capitalism as seizing on opportunism. That’s not capitalism, that’s how markets work. Marxists have a word for profit, too, so having more money over cost of production is also not capitalism. Everyone has markets. Capitalism is laissez faire. That means what? And who’s hands off of what? When you figured it out, that’s capitalism. Everyone we’ve met in our lives has lied to us about its meaning because they don’t benefit from not being able to regulate and tax businesses. They would fail in this world. I’ve also never read Ayn Rand.

@ivandrago6869 I’m familiar with the rough outline of objectivism, but all of that is immaterial, This is Adam Smith and Hayek stuff. Capitalism is monopoly powers staying out of commerce. That’s literally it.
