  2. Capitalism is not industrialization or GDP. Capitalism is not to take advantage of a situation, or “to capitalize.” Capitalism is not what rich people do with their money. Capitalism is only — ONLY — the separation of the market and state. No western country has this separation, very few ever had it and America stopped being capitalist in 1913.

  4. If you start your problems that far back, then you have no idea what’s wrong. Other populations have been through worse and thrive. Africa is poor because it’s filled with Africans. Everything that has brought modernity to the continent — even the value of its resources — was brought by Europeans. Africans suicidally chased them out.

  9. They didn’t “pull it off,” stupid. Nigeria is one of the poorest, most violent and backwards places in earth and it’s gotten worse since the Europeans who built everything left.

  10. Did they "pull it off?" By no standard did Nigeria pull anything off, except to erode all the gains the western europeans got them. You're the homicide capital of the world. You've had 40 years and outside help trying to make steel and you STILL CAN'T DO IT.
