He didnt start the Civil War. Lincoln’s election did. Brown was a crackpot that neither Harriet Tubman nor Frederick Douglass wanted any part of in any way. Men don’t go to war over ideas. They go to war over resources. It’s so simple, but it takes someone who’s never experienced war or responsibility to misunderstand it.

He was a proto SJW whose actions not only stopped what was an institution that was fading away but he exacerbated a war that destroyed large parts of America. Even Fredrick Douglass and Harriet Tubman despised him, privately. They both turned him down on this raid. Know what’s crazier?of the few blacks he was able to recruit for their cause, they all turned and ran when the bullets started flying and turned on Brown to authorities. Some valor.

The north didn’t like slavery because it was terrible economically. That’s the truth about slavery – the only person who wins is the person selling and buying the slaves themselves. It retards economies immensely. Also, just because the north opposed slavery doesn’t mean they wanted blacks to stay in America. The American Colonization Society was created because northerners opposed slavery and wanted to send the Africans back.

@nosonoliento We barely took any slaves from Africa. You know this, right? America got 3% of the transatlantic slave trade and what made them unique in history is that they were the only slaves that survived and reproduced. Cuba took twice as many slaves as America. America has 41 million blacks today. Cuba should have 82 million by that logic, then, right? Where did Cuba’s slaves go? Do you even know where the word “slave” comes from and that it’s cultural appropriation for blacks to use it?
