Nothing close to those atrocities happened in the United States. The Iberians — Spanish and Portuguese — dominated the Transatlantic slave trade. Only 4% of all African slaves came to the United States. The rest went to South America. Change your handle to "UniformedFuck" and suddenly something authentic is happening in your quixotic life.

The only thing different between the two is American benevolence in conquest — yes, "benevolence" in relation to Spain's conquests — and their competence to do it.
