  1. I dispute that Kurtz is either a villain or evil — he is merely nature in consummate man. He’s more Christ than Dionysus, though, and that’s the part that I’m sure even Conrad would be disappointed in how you read his character. He’s outside morality because the well was poisoned about him on the trip there.
