But then why do their modern cities look like ours and why don’t ours mirror theirs? Why do they play an abridged, pop-up version of Beethoven’s Ninth so beautifully in what looks like an American mall in Tokyo? There’s more too it than just average IQs. IQs measure something tangible, certainly, and I agree with almost all of what I’ve seen evidence for regarding disparity between groups. Still, I’m puzzled by how disparate some ranges are within groups to the average and wonder of the average is what we should be measuring.
