  1. School vouchers sound good, but then you’re not fixing the problem, really, because everyone gets them and they will spread out even more from terrible urban areas and destroy more school districts. All you do is reshape how problem children are spread.

  5. I attended a diverse school in the late 80s where black kids were bussed in. Absolutely terrible people, almost to a person. What was worse is the black teachers would egg them on against white kids, particularly the more affluent white girls. This was middle school.

  6. It they don’t have to. Have you ever seen the Education of Michelle Rhee? Most of these schools have the supplies but they’re locked in some warehouse no one knows about and the diversity hires they had to order them are too lazy to distribute them.

  10. You’re not ready for this, but you will be because I used to believe in “racist white people,” too, but ….. there was a reason there was segregation. It was a response to inordinate violence and indolence.

  11. Easily the most under-told story is the OTHER side of bussing. We’re guilted into the alienation blacks felt in white schools, but the whites sent to black schools got the shit kicked out of them daily and received nothing from their education.
