This is not a very different perspective but rather pretty much what many people think, although there are other theories, the theory that the war is all about Putin trying to keep in power I believe is one of the paramount ones. By now (april 26) there's even more evidence of war crimes and even higher number of Russian casualties, a realization which must at some point reach the Russian citizens, a new cold war does not seem likely to me at least. The feeling of not be able to stop the war I share, since I am naive I thought the west would do much more to help Ukraine. I also feel for ordinary Russians, at the same time I recognise their passiveness too which has a great deal to do with whole the situation as well.
