Russia uses blocking troops, they shoot their own if they retreat or refuse to go forward, this is not a rumor it’s fact and there are dozens of drone videos & POW interviews that prove it. Those poor bastards have no choice, Putin cares absolutely nothing about his troops, this is his vanity war for his legacy and he has fucked the Russian people over, destroyed their economy & future for a little more territory along their border that they won’t ever be able to secure. But Russians are dying in huge numbers, thousands every week and over 200k have been killed in less than 18 months time? They ain’t living long at all, even without war the average lifespan of a Russian is 20 years less than it is in a 1st world country, it’s a harsh & brutal place to live.

Now it’s being said these aircraft were shot down by Russian air defenses, not Ukrainian. How could that happen, Russia has and old but very reliable IFF friend/foe transponders? These aircraft were shot down, there is video and Russia has confirmed some but not all.

Russia couldn’t take Kiev with the best troops & equipment they had, they didn’t just get their asses kicked they were humiliated. Russia cannot even hold the small amount of land they managed to take, they will not be taking more when they are desperately trying to hold what they have and are retreating and losing land every day. Belarus has a pathetic excuse for a military, they make Russians look like a professional military in comparison. Thinking that these troops along with the mobilized cannon fodder could take Kiev is hilarious.

@iconicamericano1131 I think the same, they are depleting large numbers of Russian men & machines before their spring offensive and are buying time until all of the advanced weapons from the west arrive. Another reason is that if Russia takes Bakhmut they will move on to shell and completely destroy Kramatorsk and the other remaining cities in the Donbas. The U.S. has urged them for weeks to abandon Bakhmut but the Ukrainian generals said no, they have proven to be highly competent in this war and they insist on staying for now but I don’t think it will be much longer. Ukraine will not be routed, they aren’t stupid and know how to fight Russians better than anyone else in the world.

I think you are well aware that anything that comes from the Kremlin & Russian MoD is complete bullshit, they claim to have only lost 26,000 in this war and they have lost 20k dead & 80k wounded in the last 5 months alone. Russia has taken many more casualties in Bakhmut because they send meat waves across open fields to take fortified Ukrainian positions without armor support. Think about it, you have to break cover to advance when you are on the offensive, this exposes you to fire so many more are killed compared to defenders who don’t have to break cover & advance. This HL kid has a theory that because Russia fired a lot more artillery Ukraine has lost more people which is ludicrous, properly built bunkers can survive a direct hit from a 152mm shell and Russia uses artillery as a area weapon not a precision weapon, it’s hilarious to think that all your shells are hitting their mark and taking lives, that’s just not the way it works. The most accurate estimates from UK & U.S. intelligence has Ukraine at 15-20k killed and Russia at 47k killed, and three times as many wounded as dead on each side. The claim of Russia killing 300,000 Ukrainians in Bakhmut is just fucking hilarious and nobody in the world believes that.

@khorps4756 - No they have not encircled them, nobody gets encircled in this war, both sides pull out before that happens. What they have done is isolate Wagner in one small area of southern flank and managed to kill a lot of Wagner. For Ukraine Bakhmut is not about taking the city it’s about killing as many Russians and destroying as much of their hardware as possible and in this they have been successful, killing many times more than they loss. I know Puttlerites quote the Kremlins ridiculous claimed it 300,000 Ukrainians have been killed but y’all know that’s bullshit, there has it been 300,000 Ukrainians killed in this entire war, Russia is taking far more casualties, they are prison convicts but Russian aggressors non the less. Wagner has been decimated and will likely be completely destroyed, with all the infighting between Wagner & Russian army and all the shit Prigozhan has been talking I believe they are going to leave them there unsupported & without ammo just so they will be destroyed and they don’t have to deal with them anymore. PMC’s are popping up everywhere in Russia these days, oligarchs are preparing for a post-Putin Russia where they will be fighting each other & scrambling for power. Russia is desperate to take Bakhmut for a purely propaganda war, Bakhmut is not a strategic city, Ukraine is just there to kill a shitload of Russians and both sides have been successful but Russia is simply unable to take it and even if they do they will never, ever, take any more cities past it, they will never control the Donbas.

Russia will eventually pull out while selling the entire war as a great success worthy of the Great Patriotic War to the Russian people who will believe & accept it while their countries economy & future are in shambles.

Ukraine doesn’t even have 10% of the weapons Russia has, no long range missiles, no navy or huge Air Force with 5th generation fighters & hypersonic missiles like Russia and they didn’t inherit the massive Soviet arsenal as Russia did. If Ukraine had 20% of the weapons Russia had you bet your ass they would defeat them and this war is far from over, it’s a stalemate, Russia only gained a whopping 64 square kilometers in 2023 while taking huge numbers of casualties. Everything that comes from the Kremlin is a lie, often laughable lies, nothing that comes from them is the truth, nothing! That can’t be said about the US, UK, Germany, France and other western intelligence agencies who are far more above board. Same with the press, Russias press is State Press, they don’t have an independent press anymore because they ran them all out, you think they report accurately?

I’m not coming to my conclusions on the Russian military from the media but from their actions, the way they fight and their command structure, the fact that Putin is making military decisions. Same with the Ukrainian military, and if you compare the two it’s easy to recognize which is the professional military who is executing a solid strategy for taking back territory and which one is the undisciplined thug army who is only successful at committing war crimes.

If America or NATO were to enter this war Russia would be completely destroyed along with their entire Black Sea Fleet in 4 days, that’s what a modern professional military is easily capable of doing but not Russias rotten to the core 3rd rate military.

@569-m5p - Yes Russia does have the most artillery in the world, Soviet doctrine calls for it and Russia still follows Soviet military doctrine. Which is why them buying it from N. Korea is puzzling, they must have fired their stockpiles and can no longer manufacture it due to sanctions. Industrial machinery that has broken down and can’t be fixed now because of the sanctions would be my guess, nobody buys artillery or any military equipment from N. Korea unless there is no other choice.

If you want an accurate non biased account check out Preston Stewart, a West Point graduate & artillery Major in the US Army with 10 years of service and a Masters Degree in Military History, not someone theat makes money catering to the niche pro Russian crowd. Stewart is pro Ukraine just like any intelligent American is but he really is non biased and has pro Russian viewers and looks at both sides. You might like what you are hearing with HL but that does not make it the truth.

The ORLAN-10 drones also had 8 year old low-end Cannon Rebel T6i cameras attached with Velcro and they super-glued the mode dial so it doesn’t turn off in flight and the focus dial. A plastic soda bottle is riveted in for its fuel tank and duct tape is used in its construction. Russia is unable to build the ORLAN-10 anymore because of sanctions which is why they are forced to buy them from Iran, but now sanctions have been brought against Iran to prevent them from getting the components needed to build them. Only western countries or their close allies like S. Korea & Taiwan have the technology needed to manufacture memory chips & processors, Russia does not and never will have that ability.

@VVV85650 - Russia does not make a single processor or memory chip, they don’t have the manufacturing technology. Russia has designed processors & memory chips for its specific needs but they are all manufactured by TSMC in Taiwan, not Russia. They are of course no longer exporting them to Russia.

@VVV85650 - China does have its own foundries that can produce low-end processors used for basic logic circuits in cars & toasters but not anything approaching the power of what you are tying on right now or for military use. Donald Trump cut China off access to tools required for manufacturing and unless Biden has been secretly selling it to them through his crackhead son, which is a possibility, they will not advance any further in the near future. Russia has no ability to manufacture even low-end chips & processors, none.

Russia is proving to the world once again why they are the second most powerful military in the world and masters of trench warfare. Sure they might not be able to gain air superiority or do combined arms maneuver warfare but give them a shovel and some AT mines and they are unstoppable at defense. The West laughs at Russia and claims they have a garbage military since all they can do is massive artillery strikes far behind the lines then send in prison convicts to take control of the rubble or how they require railroads & trains for logistics but this nostalgic approach to warfare works great when used against a smaller army with a fraction of your firepower and I applaud this nod to the past, it worked great 100 years ago and it still works today. We all know Russia is actually fighting Polish, American & British troops not Ukrainians so let them laugh, these time proven tactics are still superior to all that fancy-pantsy modern combined arms shit they have. HT knows what he is talking about, he has never been wrong in his predictions which are based on his vast knowledge & experience with military science, not once.

Russia never intended on taking Kiev or all of Ukraine, if they had they would have done it. Putin is a fair man who wants peace and to end the bloodshed of these fine Slavic warriors, it’s Zelensky who refuses to come to the bargaining table. Putin just wants the territory that rightfully belongs to Russia back and he needs a land bridge to access it because those Khokhol terrorist keep blowing up the beautiful Kerch Bridge.

Zelensky visits the troops on the front line regularly while Putin has never shown up once, because he is a weak little coward. Zelenskyy is the most admired leader in the world, Putin is an indicted war criminal who can’t even leave Russia for BRICS meetings because he will be arrested. @1GTX1 - The U.S. was just enforcing a no fly zone in Serbia, they were not involved in active combat, only had a handful of aircraft in the area and if I remember correctly they didn’t take out that bridge because civilians parked themselves on it to prevent that from happened. Had it been Russia they wouldn’t have given a damn and would have knocked the beige out very easily. Bridges are not strong structures by any means, they are just a raised roadway that can be easily taken out with GPS or laser guided bombs that carry a wide variety of war heads, from bunker busters to air burst to 1,000 pound HE to thermite & hyperbaric. Just because a bridge was not taking out does not mean it couldn’t be taken out.

@1GTX1 - I don’t think the U.S. had anything close to 1,000 planes enforcing a no-fly zone, they only have 5,000 in their entire Air Force including cargo, transport and rotary wing and it’s the largest Air Force in the world, the US Navy is the second largest. Maybe all of NATO had that many rotating out. They were not even involved in direct combat, they did some air strikes on columns of troops to prevent genocide but they were not fighting the Serbs. NATO has over 4 million activity duty members, if they were fighting in this war you would have known it.

On the other hand a few HIMARS rocket artillery systems brought the entire Russian military to a screeching halt, Russia has done nothing but retreat & lose territory and one major city after another since last July when they first appeared. Keep in mind that HIMARS is a 32 year old American system and Ukraine received versions that were hobbled to where they could only shoot the shortest range rockets possible, none of the mid or long range options with four times the warhead size as what they are using. Ukraine has only received 1.75% of NATO’s firepower and none of its 4 million active dirty personnel, not one single main battle tank or mid range missile or one 4th or 5th Gen fighter aircraft or helicopters. That’s about to change, Ukraine has been a foot army this entire war but now they have morphed into a NATO trained mechanized army capable of combined arms maneuver warfare, the world has not seen the Ukrainian army that’s about to be unleashed on Russian troops. This is why Russia won’t win, not one single wonder weapon.

Lol, France has a nuclear armed professional military that is many times more power than Russias garbage army of convicts & old alcoholic cannon fodder. It wouldn’t even be a contest, France would defeat Russia in short order but they are not sending over combat troops they are sending over troops to man the air defense systems & train Ukrainian troops but the hope is that France will be drawn into the conflict so they can bring it to a rapid end.

@fulconandroadcone9488 - The west did not use trench warfare in WWII, of course there were trenches in WWII, I used trenches and there will always be trenches in every war but there is a huge difference between trenches used in defensive positions and actual trench warfare. This war is trench warfare, static trenchlines with one behind the other and minefields, barbed wire, tank ditches and dragons teeth just like in WWI when the very tactics Russia is using today were developed. The West does not do trench warfare, they do combined arms mobile warfare which the Ukrainians have had some training on but they don’t have two absolutely critical parts needed for combined arms assaults and that is aircraft and air superiority, without that you can’t do combined arms and I doubt if Ukraine will ever be able to do it in this war. It requires a hell of a lot of training & practice to be able to coordinate your air & ground elements together in a symphony of death & destruction and nobody does it better then America because of their massive amounts of firepower. The Shock & Awe you mentioned is only one element of combined arms warfare, shock & awe is part of how you gain air superiority, the other is using highly trained air defense suppression kill teams called wild weasels that knock out the enemies air defense systems. Russia cannot do combined arms warfare for a few reasons but the most glaring is they can’t establish air superiority, they don’t have air defense suppression teams like the west and their pilots don’t have half the training time western pilots do so they have poor pilots despite having some of the best military aircraft in the world. Also the coordination of ground troops, infantry & armor, to work in conjunction with artillery & air is a complicated process that requires extensive training and practice to accomplish and that includes the logistics to support these operations. Russia won’t be able to develop this capability in this war and neither will Ukraine so this war is an example of two peer armies using 90’s era military hardware but it is in no way an example of how the West fights wars in 2023 or their capabilities.
