  1. It's just a sign of the times. We live in a hyper dynamic environment now where short attention spans call the shots. Back in the day, playing guitar was considered cool, and if you were good at it you were exalted to deity status for lack of a better word. When I attended college in the 80's, I studied music on the side and I was proficient playing compositions by Bach, Tansman, Scarlatti, Antonio Lauro, etc. The girls were eating it up, but nowadays? Not so much. Nobody cares about your musical prowess anymore in social settings.
