  1. I just renewed my passport through the new online option, and I highly recommend it. I filled out the form on January 4th and got my passport back in a week! And this wasn't even through the expedited option which isn't available on-line anyway. I would avoid mailing it in if possible because you will be without your current passport for a while since you have to mail it in. In this current climate of uncertainty, I want access to all my documents.
