  3. Different states have different statutes and interpretations as to what can be considered self defense, so weigh your options carefully before you decide to conceal carry and fire your weapon. Florida, for example, is a lot more forgiving because of its "stand your ground" laws. They take into account how you were feeling at the moment and whether or not it was reasonable to think that your life was in danger. This could easily pass for a stand your ground defense. Other states with their applicable laws might say that since you participated in a demonstration in public where heated exchanges could occur because the subject matter automatically disqualifies a self defense argument. Whenever you fire a gun in public there are always at least two things attached to that bullet: a lawyer and, or, a prison sentence.
