"Guy who's perfect for them" = a guy who totally adores them, puts them on a pedestal, pays their way, is romantic, handsome, sensitive but also a man's man, like's to travel, funny, fit, ambitious, attentive but not clingy, and did I mention a guy who adores them? A lot of women are inherently unhappy and insecure because the self actualization achievement of their peers is often used as a benchmark for their level of satisfaction. Women want it all these days, even divorced women with three kids in their 50's.

Interesting comment. Friends of mine who live in the Toronto area are trying to get the hell out of Canada because, according to them, the Canadian healthcare system is on life support and the cost of living is unbearable. Finding a primary care physician is a baffling ordeal and there is a major housing shortage. Real estate prices here in the US have experienced a meteoric rise as well, but rent prices have leveled off. We couldn't find any takers for our three bedroom rental property last year because there's more than enough space to choose from. As far as healthcare is concerned, everything runs like a train here. My colonoscopy screening appointment was a month out (zero cost for preventative screening, never saw a bill), scheduling an appointment with my PCP is usually a week out. And there are so many imaging centers in my zip code, your dog can probably get an MRI tomorrow whereas in Canada the wait and referral process takes a lot longer. Moreover, I don't need a referral from my PCP for anything with my PPO plan. I just access my Florida Blue portal online and begin the doctor shopping process. I had an annoying ear wax issue last year, so I called an ENT and I was in the next day. WE don't have a supply issue here, that's for sure.

The military? That's the biggest entitlement minded institution. It's a communist nirvana since the U.S. taxpayer pays for all of the benefits (housing, healthcare, education, travel, etc.) Remove the benefits, pensions, and tax payer funded perks from the equation and see how many people sign up to join the military to serve their country. This "young lady" at least isn't risk averse because she has to pay back her student loans, pay for rent, utilities, transportation, etc. When you're in the military, the taxpayer assumes the financial burden. Give me a break.

Gun violence in America is a problem, but you need to drill down a little deeper to get to the root of the problem. Almost everybody in my zip code is armed to the teeth, and there are about five gun stores within a seven mile radius of my house. There are, however, practically no gun homicides or violent crimes in my area. Poverty, incarceration, drug use, homelessness/mental illness, inter-generational familial issues, etc., are also non-existent in my neck of the woods. Put two and two together. If you really want to see the wretched and dark side of life in the U.S., do a search for the "zombies" of Kensington in Philadelphia.

The issue at hand is that human beings like to over complicate things just to "live" and we assume that it's normal because it's all we know. Education, career advancement, deadlines, taxes, mortgages, rent, health insurance, lawsuits, student loans, social media, marriage, professional development, HOA fees, following fads and trends, etc, etc. All of this nonsense just to eat and have a roof over your head. Don't make fun of tribes living in Papua New Guinea or in the Amazon living a basic and practical life. I think they got the right idea. Hunt or fish when you're hungry and go to sleep whenever you're tired. You won't miss what you don't know.

Student debt? Be careful what kind of degree you pursue because student debt never goes away! I graduated with a B.A. in Business many moons ago, a vanilla type of degree that doesn't mean a whole in the market place. Like most graduates with these type of degrees, I worked a couple of dead-end restaurant jobs for a while until I found my calling......outside sales! Much to my surprise, I ended up working with sales "executives" who either went to community college, or never attended college at all! Nevertheless, we were out earning college graduates with accounting, IT, engineering, and other prestigious degrees. Moreover, I have yet to set foot in an office the last 20 years since large corporations allow sales reps to work from home. I think a college education is highly overrated in many instances when you take into account that so many kids just go to college to prove that they're "not dumb" as opposed to preparing for a viable career. But this is what happens in a pseudo shaming type of culture; you're expected to have a college degree, get married, etc. Consequently, you end up making risky financial decisions in order to keep up with the education game.
