  4. Krivosheev, Soviet losses in WW2 among others.  Vlasov's army was set up after 2.8 million Soviet POWs had been murdered.  You need to account for the timeline and understand the context of when Hiwis and Vlasov's army came into being after the intitial muder of 2.8 million men .

  7. The front was thousands of miles wide, hundreds of miles deep. Some POWs were killed shortly after capture, some of the roadside on the way to larger enclosures, some died on the way to camps while on trains, etc. Most died of starvation in the open air cages and there are monuments, mass graves were found, etc. Most of it is in Russian/Cryllic and there is little in the West. Few people in the West below 40 know much of any history, fewer still about WWII and hardly anyone cares about the Red Army POWs enough to research it.   13. No, they didn't. 43% survival rate for Soviet POWs in German hands, 67% for Germans in Soviet hands. The German survival rate takes a hit due to the POWs taken at Stalingrad, but also isn't very accurate due to the number of Germans that were captured but never made it from the front to the ca mp to be processed as a POW. The only accurate way to measure is to compare known POWs + MIAs, then we can add about 1.1 million more to the German number and 4 million more to the Soviet's.

If you look up the pre-campaign planning, the Germans identified roughly how many POWs they expected to take, when and where.  They weren't 100% accurate, but their numbers were close.  The plan was more or less to murder them.  That's it, not much to explain.  Look it up and see the translated primary source docs for yourself.

  22. Nope.... The Nazis killed 2.8 million Soviet POWs between July 1941 and Feb 1942.  The other 500k died during the rest of the war in various places and means (slave labor, shot, starved, concentration camps, etc).    That isn't propaganda, its proven fact....

  25. The Soviets captured about 2.8 million German POWs, 1.92 million came home. Put that number together with all of the other German MIA in the East and the Germans were missing around 1.2 million men, deployed to the East and were never heard from again. Look up "volksbund" here on Youtube for more, hear it from the most reliable source....the one thats looking for the missing men to this day.

  29. I agree with you, except this part: "millions of Soviet women raped and taken as sexual slaves by Nazi germans." There were a few instances, but for the most part the German military judicial system and Commanders at all levels strictly forbade that type of thing. The reason being one of military discipline, efficiency, etc. and not out of respect per se for the civilian population. Some women ended up in military controlled brothels, but unit Commanders kept their men in check while in the field. These are the facts, not my personal opinion. The ratio of women violated by the Germans and those by the Soviets are night and day... The Red Army was not very disciplined, the vodka flowed, and men were like savages.

In 1941 the Germans and Europe in general had no food shortages. That came much later in 1944, after all these millions of Soviet Pows were long gone.

I suggest you get a copy of "Stumbling Colossus" and stop the conspiracy BS. The facts, the real actual facts do not support the bogus theory that the Soviets were poised to invade Germany in 1941.

  35.  @aloz52  Nope... That's a bogus story. The state of the Red Army on 22 June was such that it was at least a full year away from being at capable of strategic level operations. It's units were still forming, were understaffed, underequipped, undertrained and postured in defensive positions too far from the border to even respond to invasion, let alone attack. The state of the Red Army was so poor, it fully explains their performance through Barbarossa. Like I said, get a copy of "Stumbling Colossus".

  36. ​ @aloz52  Nope, the physical evidence is the Red Army on 22 June 1941. Regardless of a dubious story about a secret document, what was actually carried out is tangible physical evidence. MP41 and DP41 as carried out are what matters, not a supposed document that claims something that is essentially facts not in evidence. The Red Army in the Western Military Districts of the Soviet Union is Summer of 1941 was not capable of strategic action. The men, material, logistical base and tactical dispositions do not support Suvorov's or any other Soviet offensive plans theory. What part of this isn't clear. The Red Army's offensive striking power was their Tank Corps, have you bothered to look up where they were and what state they were in as of June 22 1941???? Only 2 of them were near combat capable, the rest were still being formed. The process of forming tank corps takes months, and thats before they can even start training for corps level operations! Seriously...the conspiracy BS is like crack to you people. You don't know what you don't know, so you avoid actual critical analysis and go for the easy answer. Join a real military history forum, be humble. I did that literally 20 years, an MA in WWII military history and several visits to former Eastern front battle sites later. Stop drinking the conspiracy kool aid.

  39.  @berndf.k.1662  Check the day by day reports of Army Group Center and Army Group South. Pay attention to the number of POWs taken day by day and the final tallies on the encirclements. We know when, where and how many the Wehrmacht took during June-November, where they were marched off to, the death rates, the mass grave locations, the unit's involved, the post WW2 Soviet MIA listing by individual name, etc. What more do you want???? Are you that emotionally attached to your beliefs that facts cannot even motivate you to at least perhaps consider looking into it? Typical "revisionist", critical of everything but your own opinion.

It is incumbent upon you to research the topic on your own if you have an interest. No one is obligated to bring you information or prove something to you. True historical analysis absolutely requires researching the opposition's view, facts, etc. which you clearly have not done or even seem willing to do. I have... I recommend you start with a simple internet search for Soviet POW memorial and see where that takes you. You will find many memorials, many links to sources you can run down. Look up the AGC and AGN day by day war diary, even Halder's war diary. Those will link you to original Wehrmacht files on microfische, etc. There are already books on the topic that reference all of the above.

  47. Bundesarchiv, German Red Cross and the volksbund. 3.2 Wehrmacht personnel were taken pow by the soviets, 1.92 million came home. That’s a by individual name record, not an empty statistic.

  48.  Rumbert Dillahuntsville  No problem, if you're using Soviet statistics, I recommend you don't rely on one single authority. The NKVD statistics only count Axis POWs that reached their inprocessing stations, not every POW that was taken. Red Army records from the unit level to Army level show a much higher number of POWs taken. The Red Army numbers more or less match the Wehrmacht numbers for "vermissten" (MIAs). So Red Army and Wehrmacht statistics show about a million more POWs taken than the NKVD processed formally as POWs. See the issue?
