Austria's ultimatum against Serbia would require the King of Serbia to violate the freedom of his people and were so extensive and so vague that it is probable that even if Serbia had tried to follow them Austria would have attacked them anyway. The UK's ultimatum against Germany was simple and clear cut, and only required the Germans to abstain from further attacking Poland.
