Well, those are all just contracts in the same way the state takes money owed to you under an employment contract, so the same argument applies.

@vyor8837 Well, I take the first line of defence against breach of contract, that being only deal with people that you can reasonably expect to trust, and avoid dealing with habitual scammers. Turns out I'm able to get by day to day just fine because most people live their practical lives by reality rather than fraud and falsehood. Who knew? But even if I were scammed, it's impossible to say that the taxes are some kind of payment for insurance for if I have to go to court and enforce the contract. I, and everyone else, must pay for it on bane of further aggression. Since no one is actually buying this insurance, no-one is showing they value having this insurance over not having it. To get the true price, we need to have a free market for this insurance where people are actually buying it of their free consent, and hence actual economic calculation is possible.
