  5.  @spacecatboy2962  -- A Russian engineer born in 1897 later using the name 'Yuri Kondratyuk'first developed the math that showed sending a small scout ship down to the moon while leaving the return ship in lunar orbit made more sense than direct flight. He had kept his real identity [Aleksandr Shargey] secret from the Bolsheviks because of his anti-communist origins. He was drafted in WW2 and either security forces discovered who he really was, or the Nazis shot him, but he wound up dead like so many others.

  18. Sean, do the math. There's no near-earth-based optical system with the resolving power to detect stuff that small. The fact that you can't seem to realize this, or calculate it yourself, indicates you are pathetically innumerate and were failed by your public school education. Why would you want to show off this incompetence in public?
