Growing up my parents had always told me girls were kind/innocent/loving, and you must always be kind to them. When I got a with my first gf, I saw she was rude, and mean, and almost like us boys, but deep down inside I thought it might just because I didn't know her enough, and sometime she did show that kindness my parent told me, but nothing really changed. They once I got with more woman I started to realize they were just as rude as us guys. The demand for woman 35+ isn't there, and will never be there for men with those standards. The rule is always this. (1) For a woman, if your older you need to lower your standard, because your competition is against Younger, hotter, more fertile woman. (2) For a man, if you broker, your stand of a woman should be uglier woman, but most men kinda know this, and so they just go for any woman they can get. I'm in my 30's and I make around 100k a year (single Man), my family keeps trying to hook me up with this girl my age, and you know what they tell me? She has a PHD and is a Dentist... Why would I care about that? I have a buddy whos in his early 40's who is trying to get me to date woman in their 20's, in China because that who he dates and he makes alot less than me and I turn him down because I prefer to keep my money for me. But if I wanted to date, who's offer do you think I would take? Easy answer.

The dowery was invented because parents wanted to sell their daughter to a man and promise she would be a good wife, and if she wasn't, the man could go back and return her and get the money back, and she would become a used good (decreasing her price next time), so instead parent would punish bad daughter to make sure they stay in check. The issue today is, woman empowerment, which should remove the dowery, but Chinese parent and woman, still think they need a dowery, when their daughters are not wife material anymore. If chinese people want to follow the west and give woman these power they need to follow the west and remove the dowery expectations.
