Oil and gas are good for now. These are not climate-friendly, and will be phased out. Recently it hadbeen reported that Norway has massive geological reserves of phosphates, a key and diminishing input for high-yield industrialized agriculture. Norway will continue to do well, as long as it avoids catching the "Dutch Disease".

You missed a major element in Russia's population decline:: the fertility rate, at 1.57, is (and long has been) significantly lower than the replacement rate of 2.1 children per woman.

@ibrahimhassan711 we enter into definitial turf wars. The common perception of what were "a base", should be capable of deploying aggressive manpower from its geographical site; three US personnel esconced in some cave in the Baltics, would not fit with our common understanding of what constitutes "a military base.". Please might you clarify?
