@gregh7457 That contradicts what I had known. Please provide reference to the attendant regulatory measure which might exempt PRC from otherwise mandatory declarations of origin. I worked for a food importer and had to approve labels for regulatory compliance, so do let me know - I'm curious.

@ryanrex297 A major difference is that the US does have dominion over PR; another difference is that the people of Puerto Rico had a referendum, offering choices: independence, statehood, or status quo. It ended up being a 3-way tie, i.e. independence was beaten 2 to 1. Another major difference is that PR never had the internationally recognized government of the US, later dislodged from the mainland but still retaining a functional government on Puerto Rico. PR is also quite culturally distinct quite from mainland USA, something that CCP will never accept about Taiwan.

@gregh7457 Why the hell should I google that? A biz acquaintance in the Gilroy CA area got squeezed out of growing garlic due to low-cost Chinese imports. What you seem to ignore, is that origin declarations attach to transformed products under FDA jurisdiction. A handful of raw garlic cloves (under USDA jurisdiction) is exempt from origin declaration; the same amount of garlic processed into a paste and pasteurized, falls under the regulatory authority of FDA - which requires origin labeling. Why are you so troublesome when clearly you are unaware of the matter?

@Osirus1156 No, it isn't; but it would be entertaining to hear why you thought so.

@gregh7457 For the most part, raw agricultural products fall under the administration of USDA. You went off on a twist against FDA, without understanding what the hell you were talking about; I worked through that dichotomy for over a decade.

@gregh7457 You have never worked in the agricultural import trade. You don't know what you're talking about. Get stuffed.
