@kallebengtzon5240 Joining EU is a process, not one always easy even in times of peace. Speaking as a citizen of an EU member, I would welcome my sisters and brothers from Ukraine; but there are strict joining criteria.

@vijjreddy NATO is an organization governed by consensus. Apart from Article 5, one Member objection derails any proposed action. Admitting a State at war would automatically engage all Members in a declaration of war. In several cases, this normally were a lengthy deliberative procedure.

I get tired of people who say that "America is bankrupt', and cite debt numbers. Proper bankruptcy must also balance assets against liabilities. The Federal Government possesses a huge fleet of vehicles, and lots of prime office space - not to mention the Grand Canyon.
