@Darkpara1 probably caused by the person panicking. It's extremely difficult to control ones emotions on these types of drugs at those quantities. That would qualify as rapid onset and would make sense why sedatives would work to get people out of a hightened state.

I think it is obvious that excited delirium is a catch all term for someone who is in psychosis or a hightened state due to drugs in their system usually leading to an overdose. I do think Mr. Dankula is onto something about giving the detainee enough room to move while in this hightened state to give them a chance to calm down. As far as George Floyd goes, he swallowed enough drugs to kill a small family and he had preexisting heart issues which made it even more likely a drug overdose would put him into cardiac arrest. He was either going to die on the ground or in the back of a police car he wasn't making it to the hospital or jail. Even the medical examiner said that with no external information his death would have been ruled an overdose.
