@subtletherapy regulate irresponsible adultes. America is the land of the free where we should be allowed to make our own decisions even if they're poor ones. You again reiterate the talking point of regulating the normal average responsible adult because of the minority of people who are unable to be responsible with their own decisions. You're advocating for a nanny state.

What's dangerous is your friends irresponsible actions. The casinos did nothing to force the dude to fork over his cash. I do agree that online gambling can be as dangerous as other forms of addiction but gambling is one of the only addictions where people remove all forms of individual responsibility and solely blame the casino. Thats the equivalent of saying the crack made you smoke it.

@sarahpowell671 a better analogy is fast food. But I think we've exhausted the usefulness of analogies. Should we ban the big Mac while we're at it?

@boozecruiser my "ideology" is that people should be allowed to make the decisions they want to make. If you want additional protections it should align with that idea.

@guyanomaly it's not interfering any more than any other ad. If you get an ad for a new brand of liquor are they interfering with your ability to make sound rational decisions? What if they give you a discount off your first purchase?
