God forbid game developers have to develop their products to not purposefully sabotage their customers. Parameterizing all configuration options is not unreasonable. Leave it to the community to connect the pieces.

@Nexias_Faldoran this is why all code should be public. You can't stop the FOSS signal

Now their motto is "Do good" but what is good and who benefits is ambiguous.

@HavianEla respect has nothing to do with acknowledging that someone who is male is a man. Chris is masquerading as a woman which is highly offensive. If he had respect for women he wouldn't claim to be one.

@princessdollgf kiwi farms is mostly anti furry

Kiwifarms is not afraid of furry hackers lmao. They survived the keffals ordeal and they can survive anything.

@paulj6805 as long as the emulator isn't shipping proprietary code it should be legal and free game. Nintendo only has the intellectual rights to their software and only has the right to take down software specifically tailored to bypass DRM. Emulators do not bypass DRM because they require cleartext files and binaries to run which can be obtained legitimately. The illegitimately sourced binaries use other software that are not emulators to get the original files. Nintendo knows this but wanted to hit the emulator to stop the proliferation of Nintendo emulators at the expense of all gamers.

@ExarchGaming dog fights are almost non-existent under US doctrine. Comparing the US to Ukraine is pointless because our air force, logistics, and ability to enforce no fly zones which are necessary for air superiority is unmatched. The air force has very obviously doubled down on net centric warfare. It's likely future engagements won't be controlled by one person but a network of sensors that use algorithms to make the most effective decisions.

There are online libraries that purchase digital copies with permission from the authors with the intent to distribute controlled copies of the media. If the library purchases 2 of the same book only 2 people can read the digital copy at a time. What the Internet Archive was doing was coping physical books without permission of the author and sharing the copies without and controls over the content. Thats the equivalent of stealing books and giving them away. Regardless of if you think it should or shouldn't be allowed the Internet Archive broke the law.

@frightfactoryYT he'll go into maximum security fed which is basically just solitary confinement until they deem him not a risk. Then he will be moved to a lower security holding center for Internet and white crime offenders.
17
Once they started targeting infrastructure and essential services like hospitals and energy companies it was over.
15
If they federated the archive instead of keeping total control over it then this wouldn't be an issue. They wanted to be able to control the content that is archived which means they open themselves to lawsuits like that. It's weird control freak stuff that will be the downfall to the Internet Archive

Run VMs. Problem solved. You can even do a KVM GPU pass though for a native experience while still running Linux.

@j.jbinks9669 I totally agree with you. It's not exploitative. They tell you that you're going to lose and it's just for fun. Anyone with two working braincells knows this. I guess it's exploitative for sub two braincell persons 😂

I mean that's pretty crazy still. The punishment should be proportional to the crime. If the process deems him as time served then he deserves to walk. Until then he can sit in jail. The idea of the governments sabotaging any potential chance at redemption especially for a white collar crime is pretty nuts.

@TheCommanderTaco that is interesting. I haven't heard that before. I wonder.

@ExarchGaming AIM-260 has a public max range of over at least 120 miles (very likely much more) not 40 kilometers. The AIM-260 was purpose built to counter the Chinese PL-15 missile which has a max range of about 120 miles.

@skinwalker69420 KDE is by far easier to use than windows. It's unfortunate that between Adobe and gaming anti-cheats make Linux a difficult daily driver.
7
@kyokazuto you don't want to do that unless you want to avoid the issues with VMs. Dual booting means using Windows the majority of the time and Linux sometimes. When I duel booted I hardly used Linux unfortunately. Rebooting to work on projects sucks. I want to go from gaming to working without having to reboot.

@graydient05 the author owns the intellectual property. They have the right to control how it is shared. You don't agree with IP obviously but it's the law.

@soggy_dev don't allow companies to "sell" products and rug pull their own customers. In any other industry this would immediately trigger a class action.
5
@soggy_dev The standard I'm suggesting is how the industry created their servers for decades before the mass online monetization models became mainstream. I'm a dev too and I know it's bull to do this to their customers. Either create a fair product or don't come to market. That's their options. We don't allow scams just because the alternative is less attractive to scammers.
5
If the user uses native Linux applications Linux is not difficult. KDE and Gnome are very user friendly and most distros offer single click software installation which is more than you can get from Windows.

I don't think the FBI released how they got these guys. They usually don't say unless it's a super low sophistication method which usually is low tech. They may have used some real exploits to catch these guys and want to keep that on the DL.

@ExarchGaming yeah AIM-9X max range is about 15 miles on a good day so that makes sense. You did mention off bore shots which is only possible with the 9X. Still we see fighters bringing less 9X and more AMMRAMs. I'm just wondering when we will see combat drones if we don't have them already
2
@BMWe-oz9wk I think either are completely fine and beginner friendly. Both work out of the box. KDE is more customizable but not to the extent a casual user will break anything doing so.

@khatdubell the 2A doesn't apply in the courtrooms. There are 1A restrictions as well because the idea is that someone's 1A and 2A rights are not as important as being able to conduct the processes of justice. It is unlawful to protest in a courtroom. It is one of the only places that firearms can be constitutionally not allowed. Even then TikTok is a Chinese spy platform. The US company is just a shell and is owned by a company that is controlled by the CCP. The US preventing a national security risk by disallowing companies controlled by our enemies from operating in the US is reasonable. We wouldn't let Iran or Russia operate a major social media company in the US either. I'm generally a classical liberal but this falls under national defense which is one of the few legitimate duties of the government.

It doesn't matter what the law is. Demand for DRM free software will always be high demand even when not taking into account illegal uses.

@andrewphoto4750 search KVM and GPU pass though

Intel for over a decade has leaned on hyper threading performance to give them a competitive advantage over other CPUs without it. Instead of using that advantage to research single core performance and cores per chip they tried to optimize the hyper threading but they hit an upper limit. Now they're playing catch up with companies like AMD who invested heavily into per core performance and jamming as many cores into the chip as possible. AMD also embraced the ARM architecture which is the future as x86 is aging out. Right now Intel has a lot of ground to make up and has to do so quickly or risk becoming uncompetitive. Additionally, Intel like many other companies is using AI as an excuse for layoffs to try and make this look like a lateral strategic shift when in reality they're likely hemorrhaging cash and can't keep their stock appealing enough to get investments for future/catch-up RnD. Tldr they're a bunch of silly billies
