@paulj6805 as long as the emulator isn't shipping proprietary code it should be legal and free game. Nintendo only has the intellectual rights to their software and only has the right to take down software specifically tailored to bypass DRM. Emulators do not bypass DRM because they require cleartext files and binaries to run which can be obtained legitimately. The illegitimately sourced binaries use other software that are not emulators to get the original files. Nintendo knows this but wanted to hit the emulator to stop the proliferation of Nintendo emulators at the expense of all gamers.
