@youngstunna1594 is does not attempt to simulate anything. It has a accurate damage model and ballistics but none of the systems are represented virtually. For example DCS which is a simulator has each system simulated virtually and they interact with each other down to the fuel, electricity, and apu system. The fact you're driving a tank in third person while also steering the turret and firing should have been your hint that it's not simulating.

War thunder is by no means a simulator.

@youngstunna1594 it's an arcade tank game. Simulator would imply that it is replicating the functionality of the tank in the game to some degree which it isn't. Even their "simulator" modes aren't simulations they're just arcade modes with more realistic aerodynamics. None of the systems of the tank are simulated other than the armor arguably. I don't think the ballistics are simulated since they don't take into account things like air resistance and other factors that are just more easily estimated. Simulator is an over used marketing term used to make people think there's some advanced realism engine behind the scenes when most of the time there isn't. Arma also claims to be a simulator but it too is not a simulator. Both have advanced ballistics engines and war thunder has advanced armor modeling but isn't a simulation. Even if you want to use time word simulation to describe the ballistics and armor in war thunder that still does not make war thunder a simulator which would imply wide simulation of many systems.
