haydenman1 Heroic dosages of emo, I think.

Deviant child I fail to see how that justifies the gross generalisation you made. Would also point out that in some cases the dad doesn't bugger off soon enough...

FPSKorea HAHAHAHAHAHAHA OH WOW You really don't have the slightest idea what you're talking about. Nevermind now the whole topic of evolution, which is clearly so far over your head you'd need an orbital elevator to even see it, you comprehensively fail elementary biology. Hard. I'll do you a favor and link you the basic introduction to the biological principles of human skin pigmentation (Dog only knows how you suppose reflective skin was even achievable without growing scales or smth...): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_skin_color https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_skin https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light_skin You're welcome.

FPSKorea Oh and just for the record, Arctic human populations do have minor adaptations for the environment paralleling those of other mammals found there - namely, smaller ears and flatter noses less vulnerable to frostbite. Body hair is quite irrelevant for two reasons; first, H. Sapiens colonisation of those latitudes is much too recent for there to have been enough time for more than such superficial developements; second, humans rely on clothing and shelter for protection against the elements - and will perish very quickly without those in the higher latitudes - so there aren't strong biological evolutionary pressures selecting for denser body hair in the first place. (Also see aforelinked article for the vitamin D issue, relevant during the warmer seasons.) OTOH, the cultural evolutionary pressures to devise suitable forms of dress, shelter and ecology to survive the frozen wastelands have been that much more unforgiving...

FPSKorea And by what token do you hold that the rest of your painfully and excessively simplistic, comic-book level, assumptions about how evolution "should" work are any more correct than the thermoregulation/pigmentation complex I just demolished wholesale? And there are no "other arguments" you have made in this comment chain. Feel free to add more though, I don't mind schooling you further.

***** Coming from a (white) single-mother household myself I take personal offense at your implied baseline assumptions.

***** Rate of reporting does not equal the rate of incidence though. (Rapes are a notorious example; I know over here the police and assorted relevant support organisations estimate they hear of at most a third or so of those.) Which is a major reason most crime statistics (further convoluted by differing legal definitions and classification systems) aren't internationally comparable, aside from outright murders which tend to get reported and recorded even in third-world shitholes where people mostly avoid the cops like a plague for good reasons. Just for example it could easily be argued that behaviour that in mothers gets reported as "abusive" is instead "taken for granted" in fathers, thanks to the ever funny cultural gender double standards. It could be similarly postulated that abusive fathers are more likely to have their families plain too cowed and terrified to be reported in the first place...

FPSKorea You have no idea what "evolution" actually means do you. Because your entire post grossly violates the meaning of the term on multiple counts...

***** The US has serious societal problems in general, what else is new?

universalstudios13 Thus 30% of hubbies are unsatisficatory at best.

haydenman1 Way to miss the joke.

Laythe You don't know much about animals do you.

Tsuiseki Hybaku Can't say I quite follow the causal chain there.
1
universalstudios13 Yeah, well. Let's just say that the next time I intend to see my father will be in his funeral and leave it at that, which ought to give you an idea about how much time I have for the pungent misogyny being thrown around here.

***** Because people?

***** You didn't actually read the comment did you. (If you did then your reading comprehension is simply inexcusably appalling.)

***** As opposed to what, the father killing the entire family plus probably himself to boot?

"There is no God." See? It's very easy.
