  1. They're not exactly natural enemies though. More like awkward neighbours. They by necessity have to share the same waters and hippos are too large and dangerous for crocs to prey on with any regularity, so mostly they just ignore each other to the best of their ability. ...and then you get these misbehaving teenagers who won't take no for an answer.

  5. Doesn't seem to have side mirrors (fine her, officer) so either from cues in the other elephant's movements or straightforward educated guess. I mean, it's kinda obvious the doggies will start getting ideas the second Mommy turns her back; doesn't really help that baby 'phants AFAIK instinctively follow behind their mothers which, obviously, isn't exactly optimal here...
