@markcarpenter6020 I live in a very remote part of New Zealand, and within a 30 km radius there have been 3 bolt-hole bunkers built by in the last 6/7 years by extremely wealthy Americans. These are not holiday homes but proper survival bunkers designed and built for 20 plus people to hide away for a few years at least. They are also exceedingly lavish. I know one has a 30 person movie theater, and a large indoor pool, sauna and spa in it, and is only accessible by a helicopter or boat. The funniest thing is, they think they are a secret, unknown, that they built them on the DL. Imagine being so out of touch with the real world, you think you can turn up in a foreign country, buy large chunks remote rural property, hire an army of builders and contractors, some who are locals, chopper in materials for weeks on end, build a lavish underground bolthole and think they are being inconspicuous. 😆🤣
