Portents of doom that i can remember being pushed, 1: "A new ice is coming soon, definitely!" the 70s, (they were certain on this one, there were articles and documentaries up the wahzoo about it) . 2: "Acid rain is going to make all plant life in Europe die, 100%" the 80s. 3: "By 2020, you will need a special protective suit to step outside for any length of time due to the hole in the ozone layer, plus, it's getting BIGGER!" late 80s early 90s. For the last one there was an Ad shown here in NZ, of bad the UV radiation would get because of the hole, it showed an old man and a young boy walking hand in hand on the beach in protective suits with a "this is coming!!" message to go with the visuals.😂😆

  3. Yep, we got told that when i was at school in the 70s "A new ice age is coming, for certain!" other portents of doom were, "Acid rain plant life in Europe is DOOMED"! And the last one i remember before they settled on, "Global warming....sorry...Climate change"🙄 was "Hole in the ozone layer, we are all going to be fried to a crisp" They even showed Ad's here in NZ in the early 90s of how, by 2020 we would not be able to set foot outside without wearing a full, white "anti radiation" suit.🤣🤣
