Waiheke island was a great place to live in the early 90s, then hordes of rich wankers from every corner of the world arrived, along with their must have boutiques, gourmet coffee shops, vineyards, marinas and other shit, they turned it from a nice place that was cheap to live, and where you knew everyone to a McMansions with helipads type of place.
