My GF works in a lab with a Chinese woman here in NZ, she said her parents begged her to stop posting anything anti CCP as they had been visited by "officials" who had basically threatened them, and said to tell her "when she comes home we will catch up with her for a chat". She has to go back to China to re apply for her work visa.

@voyaage1969 They know the woman is working in NZ, so they monitor her FB and whatever Chinese platform she uses to talk to her parents back home. It was her parents they contacted and warned about her posting anti CCP shit while she was in NZ, she hasn't had any contact from any CCP officials while in NZ. Also it was REALLY mild criticisms that she posted apparently, but any criticism is too much.

@scoobz No dude, the parents warned her that the ccp were aware of her posts about China, after the officials visited the parents and intimidated them.

Managed to blag a greatly reduced trip there during the 08 Olympics as my GF was a physiotherapist for one of our countries team. Never been to a more openly racist or xenophobic country, and this was them on their best behaviour. One of our group we used to go sightseeing with could speak mandarin, and she walked around with a WTF? look on her face the first few days until she got used to it :-))) They literally give zero fucks. I guess they have other issues to worry about. :-))
