@shadcharleston . “Even if he was possessed” There is no such thing as “possession” Mental health issues are real, demonic possession is not.

Of course it’s still a crime, just because he’s psychotic doesn’t negate it being a crime, the guy was a ticking time bomb, and the mother brushing it off as “just being possessed” just exacerbated the issue.

Just left a similar comment, at one point it’s almost like he could see it.

I wonder if he could see that wolfs head floating around the interview room.

No idea about the US, but the Police here in NZ get very little training in dealing with mental health patients, and to be fair, apart from initial contact, it’s not their job. They should just transport them to a secure facility and let mental health providers deal with them. So much police time is taken up by mentally unstable people (some that shouldn’t even be out interacting with the public) causing huge issues in the community.

I also have a childhood friend who is now schizophrenic, he started think everyone was filming and talking about him, that he was in a reality show like the Truman Show movie. I let him stay for a few nights as he kept getting kicked out of flats and accommodation, I woke up to him tuning the radio into every station he could find and he said “listen, they are all talking about me, why don’t they just leave me alone”. Not long after that he pulled a knife on me and was trying to make me “confess” to being part of “The game” as he called it. I grabbed him by the scruff of his neck and threw him out. I couldnt be having that behaviour around my family. Last I heard he was in Australia causing all sorts of drama for his family. What’s crazy, is that until he was barred from working in that profession, he was a psych nurse! He once told me all the patients in his ward were “imposters” so he stopped giving them their meds! That’s when I contacted another friend who was a nurse and told them they had a problem with him, and what he said.
