@r6stu I gotta get me one of those too, i'm still using an old type that goes "clik-clak" at the right torque, but on low setting its real easy to miss.

What media do you use in the blaster for the casings?

@Jonathan_Doe_ Thats because they were allowed to be 250cc larger in displacement, and in the early days quite a bit lighter too.

@johnnyrvf I remember when RC30s were affordable, around 2000 i was looking for one to buy here in NZ, found one for 17,000 NZ dollars, it was a Japanese market model and had glass fibre fairing on it painted up in purple Rumi colours. Then i found a OW01 in my local Yamaha dealer, bog stock and mint, for 12,000 NZ$ (about 5,000 pounds back then) so i got that. Years after i sold it I saw it in a Brit bike magazine, an American had bought it, shipped it to the states and fitted it with loads of Yamaha Kit parts he'd bought from all corners of the globe. Fred Merkle lives here in NZ, ive talked to him a few times about his time in WSBK at track days. :-)

@johnnyrvf I recall the Bimota's with kitted Yamaha FZ engines were the bikes to beat in the first year. You mentioned you also have a Z1, The local classic and vintage bike I'm in just had a show and Graeme Crosby brought down some of his Z1s, he's got a business now restoring them and building race bikes and replica race bikes.
