Back in the 80s a good female friend of mine went on holiday there, they were doing a "desert tour" type thing with a tour group on a bus. The first day a Bedouin looking guy on a camel tried to negotiate with the bus driver for him to purchase her..The guy followed the bus and tried the same thing every night for 3 nights, (she was a petite woman with long natural blond hair and blue eyes) she had to sleep on the bus with the males of the group sleeping around the doors. THEN, later after the bus tour was over, the driver told her where a genuine market was, not a tourist trap, took her there where she was grabbed and locked in a small shed, she only escaped because she was very slim and got out a tiny window.

Or the Italian woman, Pippa Bacca hitchhiking through Turkey, alone, wearing a wedding dress, to promote "marriage between different peoples and nations". 🤦‍♂ RIP Pippa.

@martaleszkiewicz5115 No she just got on a plane and left, this happened in the late 80s, she told me about it years later when she was back in NZ.
