I’m betting you’re not experiencing financial hardship during this crisis. Put yourself in the shoes of some of these protesters who can no longer feed their families because they are not eligible for unemployment benefit.

Too soon for who? If you work in a lighthouse without anyone else around then you should be fine.. that’s an extreme example but you get my point.

@Delaney 12 boy have have bought the media line hook line and sinker.. 1. there are up to 75000 deaths per year from flu in the US and the predicted deaths from COVID-19 is 60000... the country doesn’t shut down for a bad season of flu .does it? 2. We can walk and chew gum at the same time. For those industries or jobs, where appropriate social distancing and hygiene practices can be implemented then they should be phased back into work. 3. If you are under 65 and don’t have any pre existing conditions then you are very very unlikely to die, however if you are over 65 or have certain preexisting conditions then you stay home and self isolate . 4. Many of these people protesting are self employed, independent contractors or small business owners who don’t qualify for unemployment. So they need to work to feed their families and all they want is for the government to find a way to get them back to work safely.

@Adam T the data is clear , the virus really only hurts those over 65 or with certain pre existing conditions so you can hide in your cave for the next 12 months while the rest of us find ways to get back to work in a safe as possible manner .

@Pamela H wearing masks , social distancing , not shaking hands, washing hands way more often then we normally do and possibly having a temperature check every day when we turn up to work. Most people would be quite happy to work under those conditions rather than get fat and unhealthy hiding in their houses

@Adam idiotboy, there is only a 9 to a 57% of jobless in various states that take up unemployment benefit as those small business owners, independent contractors and self employed do not qualify. So exercising at home is not going to feed their families.

The lockdown was done out of fear of the unknown and alarmist predictions of millions of deaths.. models are now predicting only 60000 deaths in the US whereas the flu kills up to 75000 people per year.

@Ottavio Rubini we have a flu season , in other words those up to 75000 deaths occur in that season. The model predicts there will be 60000 COVID-19 deaths, so basically they are around the same ball park. The comparison is real

@HavokMakerX , Idiotboy, The facts is that 99% of people will catch this and have extremely mild symptoms. A recent anitibody study found that the number of people who have caught this virus and recovered is up to 85 times more then the testing suggests. This means many people have already caught it and recovered and didn’t know they had it, it also means that the mortality rate is very much in the same ball park as the flu , you fucking uneducated moron.
