And yet US coronavirus deaths are still steadily trending down... the increase of COVID-19 cases is predominantly in the 18 to 44 age group who are not going to die.

Increased case are occurring in the 18 to 44 age group who basically are not going to die. The elderly are being well isolated , that’s why the daily death rate is trending downwards.

When you open up of course you will get more cases... that’s fine as long as those cases are not occurring in the elderly and hospitals are not overwhelmed

@surely you joke, mein failüre . There is no doubt there is community spread , however, the data shows that is mainly amongst the 18 to 44 age group who have a 0.2% of dying. The overall coronavirus daily death trend in the US is steadily trending downwards

@Dick Rue you don’t have to wait , just look at the cases by age.. there isn’t an increase in cases for the elderly who are the ones most likely to end up in hospitalisation and death

@The Memo Idiotboy, the data shows cases in the vulnerable group of the elderly are not increasing. If we did see a spike in cases in this age group then we could expect a spike in deaths.

@Kay Manley there is around about a 0.2% chance of dying if you are under 44, however , if you are over 80 that chance is around 20% .

@David Bright the data on new cases doesn’t reflect that their elderly relatives are being infected. It just shows a sharp rise in new cases for 18 to 44 year olds
