There’s no doubt Trump said Mexico will pay for the wall however he tried and Mexico said No. unfortunately for them I think they would have been much better off paying a one off 5.7 billion rather than losing billions of dollars when the USMCA deal kicks in... it hasn’t been signed as yet so who knows Mexico may still come to the party.

@Rush you need research “cloture rule” and you may understand how Trump was blocked in the last 2 years in the senate by democrats from getting wall funding

@Rush it’s been a crisis for 2 decades .. review what Obama, Schumer an Pelosi had to say about it about it in the recent past. Trump is the only president with the guts to push through the politics and do what everyone has known has to be done for the last 20 years but has failed to implement successfully. Schumer, Pelosi, and many other Democrats have in the past voted for exactly what trump is proposing now and the only reason they are not now is pure politics that for them overrides the national interest

@Rush 2000 apprehensions a day is a crisis, 1/3 of all girls and women trying to cross the border being raped is a crisis, Tijuana’s Mayor declared a humanitarian crisis a month ago because of the influx of illegal immigrants is causing his city is a crisis and I haven’t even mentioned drugs and criminal elements crossing. Trump is asking for funding based on what border control are asking for.. 234 mile of steel bollard fences at strategic locations coupled with drug detection technology at ports of entry , 75 extra judges, more beds, more border staff, humanitarian needs funding as well as closing loopholes that provide pull factors encouraging people to take this perilous journey. Pelosi and Schumer have shown that they supported these measures in the past and are not now purely for political gain. Once the public perception of a border wall which started out as a 2000 mile 30 foot concrete wall changes understanding that it is actually a 234 mile steel bollard fence at strategic locations then I’m sure they will be asking Democrats why the hell aren’t they supporting these reasonable measures

@Rush Trumps border security package includes 675 million for narcotics detection technology at ports of entry.. Having said that whatever they do the cartels have virtually unlimited resources and will more than likely find other ways..however lets at least close down just walking or driving across the border between ports on entry as an option. The rest of your comment is not really relevant to addressing border security
