@Fiona A we have had CNN , MSNBC , Democrat leaders saying these were mostly peaceful protests whilst buildings were burning behind them. What sort of Mayor allows 93 straight days of rioting in their city? This should have been nipped in the bud after the first night of riots.

@Jules Nagbunga the top 3 states for COVID-19 deaths are Democrat run states and make up 72000 of those deaths. If Cuomo and other Democrat Governors had of followed CDC guidelines and not put infected elderly people back into aged care facilities , then these deaths would have been a lot less.

@Theresa Wagner I’ll agree it’s up to the police to do the policing of these riots , but it’s these Democrat mayors who are restricting their police departments ability to do what is necessary to put an end to the rioting, which is precisely why businesses have engaged the help of citizens to protect their businesses . If the mayors had done their job, then this 17 old would be safe at home and the 2 people would still be alive.

@Support your Troops & Athletes The fact is that it is only Democrat run cities that are experiencing these continuous rioting and looting. besides Portland look at Seattle’s Mayor who allowed her police station to be occupied and the CHAZ autonomous zone to be set up for weeks, resulting in multiple deaths. Or how about Kenosha Mayor who did such a poor job protecting his citizens from rioters that business owners hired locals to guard their businesses and this resulted in 2 people getting killed.

@Theresa Wagner it’s Democrat cities because groups like Antifa And BLM see them as a soft touch and they know they will get away with rioting and looting . The iron fist should always be used to stop violent rioters , arsonist and looters so as to send them a clear message that violence will not be tolerated. No one has a problem with peaceful protests but everyone has a problem with uncontrolled violent mobs destroying cities.

@Theresa Wagner there should have been unity behind stopping the rioting , looting and burning down of buildings no matter who the perpetrators were. However , Democrat leaders and mayors openly supported the rioting and looting and downplayed them by calling them “ “mostly peaceful” protests. There should always be bipartisan support for the police and law and order, however the Democrats dropped the ball on this fundamental position.

@Theresa Wagner firstly , with the George Floyd death, the leaked body cam video shows Floyd saying he can’t breath well before he was put on the ground. The medical examiner found that the amount of fentanyl in him was enough to cause his death. So I think you will find that the cops will get off. Also there is room for improved training with cops but it is way overblown to say that they are out of control and racist , especially since ratio of black and Hispanic cops to white cops is usually a representation of the ratio of the population in their area.

@Theresa Wagner there’s no doubt what Chauvin did was inappropriate and he should be held accountable , however , I think you will find the charge of Murder 2 was an overreach and the medical examiners findings will be enough to get him off that charge.

@Theresa Wagner Unity is definitely needed, however first things first as I think we need the people feeling safe from the rioting , looting and burning down of buildings. We can all agree there is room for reform with the police , probably starting with qualified immunity which tends to allow the bad cops to get away with doing the wrong thing and still stay in the force.

@Theresa Wagner there’s a lot more to the Jacob Blake killing than meets the eye. Another view from the other side of the car showed the police tazed him twice and were wrestling with on the ground before he broke free. They drew their guns and yelled “ get on the ground “ , he didn’t listen and kept on walking , yet the police did not shoot. They only shot when he opened the car door and reached for something inside his car..note a knife was found on the floor of the car. Cops only shoot if they feel they or their colleagues are under threat. Blake could have quite easily turned around and killed that cop so the cop felt he had no other option given this man was resisting arrest , not complying with instructions and then reaching into his car possibly for a weapon. A lot of people say 7 times is excessive or he should have shot him in the leg , however in reality one shot is not enough to stop a man who wants to kill you as they can still get a number of shots of that will kill you. So 5 to seven shots is normal to make sure the threat is completely neutralised . As far as the story behind Jacob Blake goes , he wasn’t a Good Samaritan breaking up a fight. The cops were actually called because he had stolen some keys from a woman and wouldn’t give them back, they also picked up that he had an outstanding warrant for sexual assault, so the cops were there to arrest him.

@Theresa Wagner If he was shot in the knee while walking , the cops have been charged for a wrongfully shooting as the guy s wasn’t pressing a threat at that stage . Unfortunately when police shoot, it is a last resort and will usually end in the death of the person being shot. They will only shoot when they feel they are in imminent danger. The shooting wouldn’t have happened if Blake just complied and didn’t resist arrest. It was never going to end well for him because of his own actions .
