Solution : open it all up and do your best to protect the vulnerable. Life has to go on

@aoifed8913 hiding in your basement is not living.
12
@hemihead6645 people die all the time . There are 700000 deaths a year in the US from heart disease. Are you going to blame Trump for that as well?
8
@Coolidge2329 defund Hiden Bunter
7
No ! Everyone needs to stop living in fear and learn to live with the virus in our midst. If you are young and healthy, be as careful as you can but get back to work, if you are elderly or have health issues, well , you have a tougher decision on your hands
6
Help yourself . Stop being depend on the government
5
Well, how about open it up them instead of complaining
5
@otogigamer look at the death curves for the various European countries like the Uk , France etc, there is not noticeable rise in deaths and that is what matters
4
@otogigamer you can’t get rid of the virus.
3
@JenniferDaniels909 the point is heart disease is preventable and so is spreading the virus . If you can’t see that I can’t help you. The bottom line is people should not have government force them to into stop eating junk food or shut down their businesses...it’s called freedom of choice , something You fascist are dead against
3
@hemihead6645 you’re absolutely right , I’d don’t want the government to tell me what i can and can’t eat just like I don’t like the government telling whether I can or can’t work.
3
@JenniferDaniels909 in no other global pandemic in history have countries gone into lockdown, even the WHO have come out now and highly recommended against lockdowns... It is very simple , allow the young and healthy to get back to work and provide support to protect the elderly and those with co morbidities ( if they want it ) to protect them from exposure to the virus. It’s not rocket science
3
@buttkid3548 well , it’s up to the vulnerable to protect themselves. The government can provide some assistance to make that task easier ,however the rest of society should not be penalised for living their lives
3
@aoifed8913 I don’t hide in my basement I’m out there working and enjoying life , however I do use common sense and avoid crowds as I have done for years to avoid flu season
2
@simonrandall5471 do some research . If you are young and healthy then you have more chance of dying from the flu... it’s more deadly than the flu if you are older than 65
2
@simonrandall5471 I’m out there , however , I am careful with social distancing and I avoid crowds, or public transport ...it’s called common sense
2
@hemihead6645 heart disease is preventable and we are talking 700000 deaths a year and 30 million people diagnosed with heart disease.
1
@truespirit730 I’ve got no problem with that.

@scurra1163 it’s hilarious how you try and use a 3 week window instead of looking at all the data. In the UK in the first wave, the virus cases peaked at 6000 per day and deaths peaked at 1100 a day, now with the second wave the virus cases are at a whopping 17000 per day and deaths are at at about 100 a day.. Stop with your alarmism garbage . The data speaks for itself
1
@scurra1163 I’m obviously dealing with a child , the fact that you don’t know deaths lag cases by 2 to 3 weeks at least and then you try using a 2 week window to make your case ...hilarious. Here is the simple fact . The cases in the second wave have tripled from the first wave but the deaths in the second wave are 10 times less than the first wave. If you haven’t got the intelligence to see that deaths are way down in the second wave then I can’t help you.
1
@scurra1163 so let’s accept that testing was not that good an indicator of true infections , especially earlier in the pandemic, in fact many virologist suggest that infections are 10 times higher than tested numbers indicate . Let’s also agree that therapeutics treatments are far superior now then they were at the start of the pandemic so the survival rate has increased significantly. So now if you look at the average daily deaths in the last 4 months you will notice the average daily deaths is about 60 a day, which equates to annual deaths of roughly 22000 deaths annually. Now annual flu deaths in the UK for the previous season was around 28000 . So given that covid 19 deaths are trending to similar deaths levels to the flu then of course its alarmism when people are talking about locking the country down again. The data shows that under 45s make up approximately 1% of the Covid deaths ( Or around 600 to date) whereas the vast majority of deaths are in the over 65s. So instead of locking the country down the government should be providing assistance to the elderly and vulnerable in helping them to isolate themselves whilst allowing the young and healthy to continue working and keeping the country and economy running .
1
@scurra1163 you do realise that in your attempt to discredit my data , that you’ve just proven my point that deaths due to Covid for under 45 years olds is very small. Now I stand with my 1% figure but even at 3 % , that means that 97% of the deaths are for people that are older than 45 so we can definitely conclude that Covid is a problem for the elderly and generally not the young. Secondly you’ve obviously had no training in maths or statistics as you keep using data sets that are not statically significant. The fact that are trying to annualise 7 days worth of data and expect that to be accurate is hilarious.. at least I’ve annualised 4 months worth of data , so I’m far more likely to be closer to the Mark. Lastly the flu data I used was from the last flu season , so it contains the same demographic and population numbers so can be directly compared . The bottom line is that the UK a well prepared and capable of handling this pandemic without locking down, by protecting the elderly and vulnerable whilst allowing the young and healthy to go about their business whilst exercising caution in terms of social distancing etc but not fearing the virus as data suggest most healthy young people will either experience mild symptoms or be asymptomatic.
1
@simonrandall5471 well Idiotboy, vote against the governor in your state ( and I don’t care if they are Democrat or Republican ) that forced your state to shut businesses down
1
Marge Harmony no doubt flu cases are down, however in 2020 there are more flu deaths in children than Covid deaths. Look it up.

@elmosweed4985 Tara Reid may have something to say about creepy Uncle Joe.
1
@elmosweed4985 the top 1% pay 38.5% of all individual income taxes.
1
@elmosweed4985 I’m saying since you are in the vulnerable category, then you should be looking after your own health and not expecting everyone else to do that for you . That means you should avoid crowds, make sure any children/ grandchildren don’t come over when they are sick and generally practice social distancing and hygiene. You can still enjoy a normal life , but you have to be more careful than young and healthy people
1
@elmosweed4985 I don’t know where you get your information , but I have been consistent in saying the young and healthy are at less risk to Covid than they are to flu Btw all this data is available in the CDC website. However the elderly and especially those with Co morbidities are at a higher risk to severe health problems and death from Covid than the flu.
1
@elmosweed4985 no the Tara Reid who has evidence of her mother calling up a major radio broadcaster and telling them about her daughters situation with a senator just after it happened
1
Of course they should open up. Let’s say these actors all catch the virus. Then 99.9% of them will more than like recover very quickly and then have immunity and then can continue to mix with their colleagues . For those you are elderly and have co morbidities , well they should way up the risks and probably stay away.
1
@elr.4780 yes the virus will spread , but the trick is to protect the vulnerable people from catching it.
